Real Estate Salesperson and Broker Continuing Education

Every month we offer a series of live CE classes. Our typical CE classes are 4 hours. On some occassions we offer 2- and 3-hour classes for students needing a shorter class to round out their remaining CE hours.

We offer a variety of standard CE topics year round, and we are always working on new CE course topics to continue providing our students with new and timely information and insights.

Live classes also offer an extra perk: there are no quizzes or tests at the end of class. With live classes, you can relax, listen, and learn.

Join us in our Baton Rouge classroom or attend remotely over Zoom.

4-hour classes: $35 for pre-registered students. $39 at the door (if space available).
3-hour classes: $27 for pre-registered students. $30 at the door (if space available).
2-hour classes: $17.50 for pre-registered students. $20 at the door (if space available).

Mastering First-Time Homebuyer Success

This is a 4-hour continuing education course for all Louisiana licensees.

Class Time and Location:

This 4-hour course covers the following topics:

- An overview of the unique challenges and expectations of first-time buyers.
- Helping agents understand and explain financing options, mortgage types, and financial assistance programs.
- Equipping agents with tools to guide buyers through inspections and negotiate repairs.
- Ensuring agents can confidently guide buyers through closing and post-purchase stages.

Practical Issues for the Modern Real Estate Practice

This is a 4-hour continuing education course for all Louisiana licensees.

This 4-hour continuing education course covers a range of topics relevant to managing a brokerage office. These topics include:

- Property management
- Employment law and supervision of personnel
- Technology in the real estate practice
- License renewal and license status

2026 LREC Broker Mandatory: Broker Leadership and Compliance

This is the 4-hour 2026 Broker LREC Mandatory continuing education course for all Louisiana licensed Brokers. This course may be taken by Salespersons as an elective.

This is a 4-hour continuing education course for Louisiana Salespersons and Brokers.

This 4-hour course:

- Helps develop active listening and verbal/non-verbal communication techniques.
- Teaches how to build trust and rapport with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Assists with identifying and adapting to different communication styles and personalities.
- Discusses how to apply conflict resolution techniques to diffuse difficult situations.
- Guides how to leverage negotiation frameworks to create win-win outcomes.
- Helps improve closing rates by mastering persuasive communication strategies.

2026 LREC Mandatory: "Transparency, Technology, and Trust"

This is the 2026 4-hour LREC Mandatory continuing education course for Salespersons and Brokers.

Note: For 2026 there is an additional, separate 4-hour Broker-specific mandatory course: Broker Leadership & Compliance. Brokers must take both mandatory courses in 2026.

This 4-hour course covers the following topics:

LREC Mandatory Forms Updates
- Identify recent changes in the Residential Agreement to Buy/Sell and explain their significance for licensee practice.
- Examine updates to the Residential Property Disclosure and analyze how they affect disclosure obligations.
- Apply the revised forms in transaction scenarios to ensure compliance with LREC requirements.
- Evaluate potential risk of incomplete or incorrect use of the updated forms and formulate strategies to mitigate liability.

Buyer Brokerage Agreements & Related Developments
- Analyze the four required clauses in buyer brokerage agreements under the NAR settlement and evaluate how they impact client relationships and compensation practices.
- Interpret Louisiana statutes R.S. 37:1431 and R.S. 37:1448.4 and apply them to ensure compliance in drafting and executing buyer brokerage agreements.
- Formulate appropriate questions to ask their broker to clarify brokerage policies, risk management strategies, and consumer protection.
- Assess scenarios involving potential steering and demonstrate strategies to maintain compliance with Fair Housing laws and ethical obligations.

Technology in Real Estate
- Define AI and technology advancements in the real estate context.
- Understand current and emerging technologies in real estate.
- Identify appropriate and ethical uses of AI.
- Recognize compliance, consumer protections, and risk management considerations.

Fraud Awareness
- Define fraud in the real estate context.
- Stress the importance of due diligence to protect consumers, clients, and licensees.
- Identify common types of fraud in real estate transactions and recognize the red flags.
- Apply due diligence practices to reduce liability and maintain compliance.
