In
order to become a Certified Residential or General
Appraiser in Louisiana, a person must obtain the Certification
from the Louisiana Real Estate Board of Certification.
Residential Certification requires 120 classroom hours
and General Certification requires an additional 60
classroom hours. You must then pass either the Residential
Appraisal Examination, General Appraisal Examination,
or if you choose both of these examinations. Students
are then required to meet certain experience requirements
and submit an experience review application to the
Appraisal Board. Beginning in 2008, requirements for appraiser certification will change.
